African Fat Tailed Geckos have a life span for 15 – 20 years and grow to be between 7 – 9 inches (17-22cm) in length, males being slightly bigger with a wider head. African Fat Tailed Geckos require a heat spot of 90 Fahrenheit (32 Celsius) and humidity levels of around 50-60%. They will eat a variety of insects such as crickets, small cockroaches and mealworms and will require a shallow water bowl. African Fat Tailed Geckos are nocturnal so will hunt for food when the lights go out so it best to feed them in the evenings. African Fat Tailed Geckos tame down quickly with regular handling but be sure not to grab them by the tail, as like most geckos they will drop their tails. The tail will grow back but may have a different appearance to it.
