Bosc Monitors are also known as Savanna Monitors, they grow to be 3-4 foot (0.9-1.2m) in length and have an average life span of 10 years. Bosc Monitors require a basking spot of 35 Celsius (95 Fahrenheit) and a water bowl large enough to fit themselves in, this is not only to drink from but they will bathe in it to cool down and help with shedding. Their diet consists of insects such as locust and crickets, which should be dusted with calcium regularly and defrosted rodents such as mice and rats. Bosc Monitors can be feisty when young but will regular handling and human contact they tame down to make great pets.
