Latin Name: Boiga irregularis
The brown tree snake can also be known as the brown catsnake and are highly agile climbers. This snake can grown up to be between 1.5 – 2m (5-6.5ft) in length and are not considered to make great first snakes as they can be shy and fearful of interaction as well as being primarily nocturnal. They are rear fanged species of snake but their venom is mild and rarely dangerous to humans. The brown tree snake will eat a wide variety of food from frog and lizards to small mammals and birds but in captivity they would generally eat deforested rodents or chicks.
