Calabar Ground Python

Latin Name: Calabaria reinhardtii

Sex: Male

Calabar Ground Pythons do not often grow past 3foot (91cm) in length and have an average lifespan of 15 years. Calabar Ground Pythons do well in a thick substrate of shredded bark that is kept heavily misted, this will also maintain humidity levels of 75-85%. A basking temperature of 90 Fahrenheit (32 Celsius) should also be provided for them. Calabar Ground Pythons, like most snakes, eat defrosted rodents such as rats and mice but unlike other snakes they have thick skin which is not very elasticated, so will prefer smaller prey. They are shy, docile animals and rarely bite when handled making them great pets.
