Mourning Gecko

Latin Name: Lepidodactylus lugubris

Mourning geckos have a life span of up to 10 years. Mourning Geckos are all female, this is where they get their name from as it is thought they are “mourning” for their mate. They are quick and tiny, only being 3-4 inches (8-10 cm) in length, making them very difficult to handle. They feed on insects such as fruit flies, crickets and other small insects but will also eat fruit, this can be in the form of Reptile Supplies Gecko Diet, which come in 18 different flavours. Regular misting will not only help maintain humidity levels at 60-70% but the geckos will lap the water droplets from surrounding foliage ensuring hydration. Mourning Geckos should be kept at 77-82 Fahrenheit (25-27 Celsius)
