Peter’s banded skink grow to be between 8-10 inches (20-25cm) in length and have an average life span of 15 years. They will spend most of their time under the substrate so deep, light bedding such as sand will need to be provided. Peter’s banded skinks can be quite friendly, sociable animals and can tolerate being handled, making them a good first lizard choice. A basking temperature of 95-100 Fahrenheit (35-37 Celsius) should be maintained as well as fresh water daily. They are omnivores so will eat insects such as crickets and locusts but will also eat fruits and vegetables such as leafy greens and squash.
