Latin Name: Scolopendra subspinipes
Vietnamese Centipedes grown between 4 – 8 inches (10-20cm) and have a life span of up to 10 years. They require deep, moist substrate to burrow in with décor such as cork bark for somewhere to hide under. The moisture from the substrate, alongside being misted regularly will help to keep humidity levels of around 80% as well as ensuring hydration. Vietnamese Centipedes can be kept at the high end of room temperature but prefer to maintained at between 70 – 80 Fahrenheit (21-26 Celsius), this can be done with a low wattage heat mat on the underside of the enclosure. These animals are highly aggressive, fast moving, and its venomous bite will cause extreme pain to anything that comes into contact with it.
