Royal pythons (Python regius) can also be known as Ball pythons, due to their shy nature, they tend to hide by curling themselves up into a ball. They are generally a small species of python growing between 90 and 150 centimetres in length. The average lifespan for a royal python is 25 years in captivity. A young Royal python will eat defrosted baby mice, as they get older they will move on to larger pray such as defrosted rats. Some keepers will also feed Multimammates (African soft furred mice).
