Yemen Chameleon


Latin Name: Chamaeleo calyptratus

Male Yemen chameleons grow to a length between 17 and 24 inches (43 to 61cm) from the tip of the snout to the end of their tail. Females will get to a length of between 10 to 14 inches (25 to 33 cm) and typically have a shorter life span than a male. Yemen’s are omnivorous but the main part of their diet is insects such as crickets, locusts and small cockroaches but will eat small amount of vegetation. Regular spraying will not only help maintain humidity but chameleons will lap water from leaves to help hydrate them. They require temperatures of 100 Fahrenheit (37 Celsius
